ILLUSTRATION FOR COMPETITION

TRADITIONAL ROMANIAN DRESSED GIRL IN FRONT OF WINDOW

Illustration made for a competition in Maramures, showing how beatiful traditional clothing from Viseu de Jos ( my family’s village)  as well as showcasing some rural elements such as the house made out of wood and the natural peaceful landscape that can be seen behind the girl. It is a classic landscape people can see in Maramures, especially Viseu. The girl was inspired by my cousin’s wife Iulia Apostol. As you can see an important elements in the clothing is the symbol of flowers as ladies around that areas are known for loving flowers which is why they chose to implement the symbol in their traditional clothing as well.

The people from the village do not usually dress like this as they prefer everyday clothes. This type of clothing is usually worn around specific holiday, christian holidays and christian holidays at the church which is a very important element in Romania’s culture especially the Maramures Area.

I hope to make more people aware that they definitely should visit this  folkloric place, not seen anywhere else in the world!

GAME CHARACTERS

These characters are made for Flee d’sea game. They have the developed versions together with the CHIBI (small) options. All my illustrations are made in Clip Studio .

The game is divided in two teams, therefore you can either be a pirate or a Captain. In order to create and style the characters I had to research on different character styles, costumes , positions, expressions, personalities, body language and body meanings.

Some old illustrations that I still enjoy 😉
